Farnborough Air Show Opens in London: PR-DC Represents Serbia
The world's largest aviation industry fair, the renowned Farnborough Air Show, opened in London on Monday. Typically held every two years, the COVID-19 pandemic prevented its 2020 edition, making this year's event, the first in four years, of immense significance for both the UK and the global aviation industry.
This year's Farnborough gathers 1,500 exhibitors from 48 countries, including the innovative Serbian company PR-DC. They will showcase their IKA series drones in London. „The atmosphere at Farnborough is incredible. This is the main event on the island this week, and you can feel the excitement in the air since the fair is being held for the first time in four years. We are truly honored to have the opportunity to exhibit our drones at this show, especially since the organizers estimate that this year's edition will attract up to 80,000 visitors. The first day was incredibly crowded, so they might even exceed their predictions", said Miloš Petrašinović, one of PR-DC's engineers.
One of the main topics of this year's Farnborough is how to reduce air pollution and make aviation more environmentally friendly. „This could be a huge advantage for the drone industry in the future. All our drones are completely 'green' – they run on batteries, emit no exhaust gases, and do not pollute the environment. Their maximum payload capacity currently does not exceed 100 kilograms, but I believe the future of transportation, both passenger and cargo, lies in drones. Many companies worldwide are already working on implementing drones to operate responsibly, reduce long-term costs, and save time. We see our development opportunity here", explained Petrašinović.
The fair will last until Friday, with a large turnout expected given the four-year hiatus. Representatives from over 100 countries are participating in this year's Farnborough, and the presence of PR-DC further promotes Serbia on the global stage.
