Petrašinović at Smart Mobility Conference: Drones as an Innovative Solution for Urban Mobility
Today, the conference „Shaping the Future of Smart Mobility”, organized by Smart City SEE, kicked off in Belgrade. This prestigious conference, considered the most significant in Southeast Europe on the topic of smart cities, brings together leading experts and representatives in the fields of sustainable mobility and innovation.
The conference focuses on developing solutions that improve quality of life, reduce pollution, and increase energy efficiency. Notable panelists include Vladimir Vasić from the Serbian Association of Banks, representatives from the World Bank, the Innovation Fund, and the Belgrade city authorities.
Among the speakers was Miloš Petrašinović, assistant professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Belgrade, and co-owner of the company PR-DC. On the panel, he presented a vision of the future in which drones play a crucial role in smart cities. Petrašinović emphasized that drones will likely replace a significant portion of today's transportation. „Electric cars are just the beginning. In the future, drones could become the standard mode of transport in urban areas”, stated Petrašinović.
He also highlighted the numerous applications of drones, including transporting people, emergency interventions, and goods delivery, which further reduce pollution and improve efficiency. „While it may take some time before we see drones as human carriers, the technology is rapidly advancing, and this is an inevitable future", he added.
Petrašinović concluded that a combination of different skills and continuous improvement is necessary to remain competitive in the future technological landscape.
The next Smart City SEE conference will focus on other aspects of smart cities, including smart energy and agriculture, with the goal of inspiring investors and regulators to adapt to modern society's demands.
